Need a new date night spot in Wake Forest?!
I’ve got the place for you. located on White Street where the old Backfins used to be .. now sits a transformed cozy romantic setting for you and your significant other, OR fun night for a group of friends! A few local Blogger friends and I went to test it out! Fun fact: Bodega is the sister restaurant to driftwood kitchen located in Lafayette Village.
The restaurant is known for their small plates as well as rum drinks. Of course I had to try a rum drink, duh! I had the jungle bird which was gosling’s black steel, come Pari, fresh lime, fresh pineapple, golden syrup. My girl Anna tried the empress which is Flor de Cana 7yr, elderflower liqueur, fresh grapefruit juice and cava.
They are a tapas restaurant so we tried eight different small plates and all of their desserts!
we started with a cheese board! 3 different cheeses – cow, sheep, goat. With fig cake, quince spread ,& strawberry compote.
next was the scallop ceviche, roasted chicken, gnocchi (some not pictured)
Next goat cheese dip, grilled octopus, pequillo peppers, lamb meatballs. Oh my it was all amazing! Talk about taste buds bursting!!! I loved every dish we tried!
MY favorite part: dessert! Spiced chocolate tart with hazelnut crust, pear tart with buttermilk ice cream, & last but NOT at all least the bread pudding 😍😍😍
Our server Bennett was amazing -great customer service & just a gem of a guy! Told us all sorts of life hacks for reheating the food and a secret tip for coffee. You’ll have to ask him 😉 the staff in general is just happy to be there and it really boosts the restaurants ambiance!
Overall I give this restaurant a 10 out of 10. Definitely my new go to in town!!!! I would HIGHLY recommend this!
